MineCat — 貓雷行動

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

MineCat (App ID: tw.lychee.minecat, "the app") is developed and operated by Lychee Intelligence Co., Ltd. ("we", "us"). This policy sets out the categories and purposes of the data we collect, process, and use when you use the app, and the choices available to you.

1. Overview

The app has no account registration and does not ask for your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information. Your game progress is stored on your device.

All data collected by the app is indexed by a randomly generated device code. We cannot identify an individual from that code. The categories are summarised below.

CategoryContentsPurposeLinked to your identity
Device codeRandomly generated 16-character alphanumeric stringDistinguishing records from different devicesNo
Game session recordsLevel, outcome, step count, duration, use of assist featuresTuning level difficulty and balanceNo

2. Data we do not collect

  • Directly identifying information: names, email addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, government-issued identification numbers, and the like.
  • Device permissions: the app does not request access to contacts, photos, location, camera, microphone, or notifications.
  • Cross-app tracking: the app does not implement the iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) for cross-app or cross-site tracking.

3. Data stored on your device

Level progress, star ratings, best step counts, and game settings are held on your device using the local storage facilities provided by the operating system. This data is not uploaded; we cannot read or restore it. It is deleted together with the app.

4. Device code

On first launch, the app generates a random 16-character alphanumeric code and stores it on your device, for the purpose of distinguishing records originating from different devices. The code bears no relation to your account, telephone number, email address, or any Apple or Google identifier.

The code is held locally and is deleted when the app is removed. Reinstalling the app generates a new code.

5. Game session records

At the end of each session, the app transmits a record of that session to a server we operate ourselves. The record comprises the level number, its difficulty, the outcome, the step count, the elapsed time, the stars awarded, the number of times assist features were used, the device code, and the app version.

The use of these records is limited to tuning level difficulty and game balance. They contain no name, contact details, location, advertising identifier, IP address, or device model, and the server does not log IP addresses or user agents.

6. Advertising

The puzzle mode offers rewarded advertisements at two points. Whether to watch them is entirely your choice; not watching them does not affect the unlocking or completion of any level.

Advertisements are served by Google AdMob. As stated in section 2, the app does not request ATT authorisation and does not use the IDFA for cross-app tracking. AdMob nonetheless processes certain technical data in order to serve and account for advertisements (such as approximate region, device class, and ad impressions and clicks), and may use that data to determine which advertisement is displayed. The Google advertising privacy notice applies to that processing.

Users located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are presented with a Google-certified consent management platform (UMP) on first launch. Whether advertisements are personalised depends on the choice you make there.

7. Analytics and crash diagnostics

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics.

The events we send describe in-game interactions, such as the beginning and end of a level, restarting, opening an assist feature, progress through the tutorial, and the number of times an advertisement offer was presented and accepted. Events also carry the device code, a banded count of levels completed (for example "6–20", never an exact figure), tutorial completion status, and the app version. A complete list of events is available on request.

The Firebase SDK additionally collects technical data as its default behaviour, including a Google-generated device identifier (app_instance_id), device model, operating system version, screen resolution, language, the country or region derived from the IP address (the IP address itself is not retained), the time of first launch, and the app version. Crashlytics separately collects stack traces and device state at the moment of a crash. The Google Privacy Policy applies to that processing.

We have disabled the use of analytics events for advertising personalisation (the Firebase allow_personalized_ads setting is false).

The app does not offer a separate control for switching analytics off. The choices available to you are set out in section 11.

8. Online multiplayer

When you enter an online room, your device establishes a connection with our server and transmits the following: the display name you enter yourself on the join screen (defaulting to "Explorer" if left blank), the room code, the character you have selected, and your actions in that session (movement, shots, and pickups).

This data is used solely to allow players in the same room to see one another's actions. It is held in that room's temporary state and deleted when the room ends. It is not written to any long-term database and is not combined with the game session records described in section 5; the display name does not enter those records.

9. Third-party services

We do not sell your data and do not disclose it to third parties for any purpose other than those stated above.

The game and telemetry servers are operated by us and hosted with a third-party cloud provider. That provider processes the data on our instructions and may not use it for its own purposes. As with any internet service, the hosting layer generates connection-level technical records (such as IP addresses) for operational and abuse-prevention purposes; the code we write ourselves does not log that data.

10. International transfers and retention

The third-party services listed above, and the hosting of our servers, are provided from facilities outside the Republic of China (Taiwan). Your data may therefore be transferred to and processed outside that territory.

  • Game session records: retained in our database with no fixed deletion period at present. These records contain no personally identifying information.
  • Temporary state of online rooms: deleted when the room ends.
  • Analytics and diagnostic data: retained in accordance with Google's retention settings and policies.

11. Your choices and rights

The app does not collect information that identifies you personally; every record is indexed by a random device code, and we cannot identify an individual from that code. The following choices are available to you.

  • Stopping all collection: remove the app. Once removed, the app transmits no further data and the code stored on your device is deleted. Records already submitted remain in our database, but contain no personally identifying information.
  • Advertising personalisation: users located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland may change their consent from "Ad privacy options" in the settings page. That option is displayed where the Google consent management platform (UMP) requires it.

If you have any question about this policy or about records already submitted, please contact us as set out in section 14.

12. Data security

Communication between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (TLS). No method of transmission or storage can, however, be guaranteed to be absolutely secure.

13. Children and minors

The app is not directed at children and is recommended for users aged 13 and over, or the higher minimum age required by applicable local law. Display names in online rooms are entered by players themselves; we recommend not entering a real name or any other identifying information.

14. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the content of this page and the "last updated" date at the top.

15. Contact

If you have any question about this policy, please write to support@lychee.tw.

The rules governing use of the app are set out separately in the Terms of Service.
